If you require mental health or substance abuse services, we encourage you to initially consult your primary care physician. However, MedStar Family Choice members do not need a referral to obtain mental health or substance abuse services. Members can access these services on their own at any time.
Please remember that the State of Maryland does require a copayment on some mental health drugs.
