Mammograms and Pap Smears

Mammograms

Women who are 50 and over should receive a mammogram.

If you have a family history of breast cancer, you should let your physician know. They may recommend a mammogram earlier, more frequently, or other screening tests.

Mammograms can detect abnormal changes in your breasts. Detecting these changes early can help save your life! Please don't wait. Get your mammogram annually!

Members 50 years and older can receive a $50 gift card if they receive their mammogram in 2019.

The MedStar Family Choice Outreach Department will contact you through letters or phone calls to remind you to get this service if we see that you have not received your mammogram. If you need assistance with scheduling this test, please contact us at 800-905-1722 and we will be happy to help you.

Pap Smears

Women who are 21 and older should receive a Pap Smear.

For completing a Pap test in 2019, members 21 years and older will eligible for $100 if their name is selected from a drawing done three times per year.

Your doctor can help you determine how often you need this test based on your age and previous test results. If you need assistance or additional information about this test, please contact our Outreach Department at 800-905-1722.
